THE MOOSEBOWL CUP
Schedule and Scoring
Each coach will play twelve games, and if possible will play each other coach at least once. These matches will be assigned by challenge, and all regular challenge rules apply. Any needed rematches will be determined at random at the beginning of the season. If a coach is no longer able to helm their team, all remaining challenges are immediately refused unless a substitute coach can be found.
No coach may play the same coach twice in a row; if two coaches are forced to play each other twice in a row those games are subject to double header rules.*
Standings are based on points distributed at the end of each game.
- Winning coaches will receive five points.
- For a tie both coaches will receive three points.
- Losers receive one point.
- Forfeiters and coaches who refuse challenges receive no points.
Playoffs
After end of regular season play, all teams receive a bye week, which is logged as a tie but does not earn standings points. Following the bye week, the four highest ranking coaches will proceed to the semifinal. Semifinal match ups will be decided using the magic D4 method.- Semifinal winners will be compensated using the following equation: total number of fans+2*(FAME)+1D6
- The Moosebowl Cup winner receives 2*(total number of fans+2*(FAME)+1D6)
- In both semi-final and final rounds, losers receive (1D6+FAME) in winnings.
The Mooseturd Cup
The four lowest scoring teams in the Moosebowl will be subject to potential humiliation in the Mooseturd Cup. All four teams will face off simultaneously on the four way pitch: choosing placement and setting up in order of least to most points scored. The first turn goes to the lowest scoring team.Important details:
- No ref would ever be crazy enough to preside over such a potential bloodbath. This of course means no fouls will be caught, and secret weapons might be your only means of survival.
- No inducements will be awarded for this match for the same reason.
- As there is only one opportunity to set up, apothocaries and regeneration have no effect on the outcome.
- As there is no kick off there will be no kick off event.
- Weather will be decided by rolling only the "Bad Weather" die. As previously noted the will be no second set up, so sweltering heat rolls will be made after each point is scored.
- All casualties are presumed dead.
- No Star Player Points are awarded, as star players don't play in the Mooseturd Cup.
- For each player on your roster with 51 or more SPPs you must roll a D6 on a 1-3 result they refuse to play.
Trophies
The coach who reigns supreme in the final will be given a free reroll for next season to represent the training and dedication that it took to get to the top and come out a champion. The value of this reroll will be added to the coach’s team rating.Inversely, the last man standing in the toilet bowl will gain fan favor for taking it all in stride. At the beginning of the next season the previously mentioned coach will receive one additional fan factor, this additional fan factor is to be included in that coaches team rating.
